Insight Software Live offers a range of applications to customers. If a customer has a specific requirement for a software application not currently offered by InsightCloud. InsightCloud provides two options for how to integrate a client's line-of-business software application(s) dependant on the "type" of application(s) being used. These are detailed individually below;

"Simple Desktop" Applications:

The definition of a "simple desktop" application is those applications which run without any external dependencies such as Adobe Reader and Microsoft Word. This also includes popular line-of-business software applications such as Sage Line 50. The criterion for integrating these desktop applications into InsightCloud is;

  • Identify the application
  • Testing the application on the INSIGHTCLOUD development platform2
  • Takes 1 to 2 working days per application3
  • Cost £1.50 per application per user per month

Desktop Integration with Local applications/storage:

This service allows applications hosted within the InsightCloud desktop to access applications and/or storage hosted at the customer premises.  This allows an organisation to provide its users with cloud based applications and still allow them to seamlessly access line of business applications and storage hosted locally

  • Identify the application
  • Testing the application on the INSIGHTCLOUD development platform2
  • Takes 2 to 4 working days per application3
  • Cost £1.50 per user application/server per user per month

"Server" Applications:

The definition of a "server" application is a software application which has external dependencies and normally involves a software agent run locally on the desktop and the application itself which runs centrally upon a server which is also hosted as part of the overall InsightCloud solution. An example of this includes Microsoft Exchange. The criterion for integrating "server" applications into InsightCloud is:

  • Identify the application
  • Testing the application on the INSIGHTCLOUD development platform2
  • Takes five working days per application3
  • Cost per application of £1,440 set-up and server rental of £600 per month based on the following server specification
  • Specification
    2 x HP DL360 G6
    Intel Quad-Core Xeon E5540 (2.53 GHz; dual capable) 8GB RAM (expandable 192GB)
    6 x 100/1000Mbps NICs (teamed public, backups, management, cluster interconnect, spare)
    2 x 146GB SFF SAS 10K (Raid 1)
    4Gbps dual-port fiber HBA
    Redundant power supplies
    HP iLo Advanced
    Windows Server 2008 Ent Ed x64 (1 CPU, non-outsourcing)

Notes:

  1. Subject to testing.
