New security features for Android based smartphones and tablets
Symantec has announced that it will be bringing out new security features for Android based smartphones and tablet computers, which are becoming more widespread.
It has also said that it will be releasing a beta version of Norton Mobile Utilities for Android.
While the beta version will allow users to manage downloads, control their calls, texts and data plan, another free tool, Norton DNS, can be used to filter access to the internet, enhance security, add parental controls, as well as ward off phishing, malware and spyware threats by changing the standard address.
Norton Mobile Security for Android (V1.5) can block out calls and texts, and provides a remote location facility that can be used to lock the phone remotely via a text message.
There are also various other security apps modelled for the iOS, Android OS, BlackBerry OS, Windows Mobile, HP Palm webOS and Symbian operating systems.
