Cisco Systems has added new security, management and video solutions
Cisco Systems has added new security, management and video solutions to its borderless networks portfolio.
According to the firm, the new products will enable IT departments to "more efficiently manage the proliferation of mobile devices, ongoing changes in workforce habits, and the impact of video on the network".
It will allow IT professionals to centrally manage and automate security and access control for any device across the organisation.
Meanwhile, the updated borderless networks products will also support embedded video and voice to boost business communications.
One of the key products added to the portfolio is Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). It is the centralised policy engine for the Cisco TrustSec solution, which allows IT professionals to efficiently define and manage security policies across the organisation.
The company is offering authentication through wireless and the concept of device profiling, in the first release of ISE.
Marie Hattar, vice president of borderless networking marketing at Cisco Systems, said: "It really adds to that security capability that the centralised policy is delivering."
ISE automates security across the organisation with network-enforced access policies and encryption, while it also solves the "any device" challenge by enforcing a context-aware access security policy.
