The iPad 2 Launches in the UK on March 25
Apple has announced that the latest version of its iPad tablet computer will be made available for customers in the UK and 24 other countries on March 25.
The iPad 2 comes with a 9.7in display, while it is 33% thinner and 15% lighter than its predecessor.
The device is powered by the technology giant's new dual-core A5 processor, promising faster performance, and it also sports front and rear-facing cameras.
It will be offered in three versions - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB - with prices starting from £399.
Steve Jobs, the firm's chief executive, said: "We're experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the US, and customers around the world have told us they can't wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone's patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone."
Together with the UK, the tablet will also go on sale in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
However customers in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and other countries will have to wait until April, the company added.
