Fujitsu has unveiled a new touchscreen tablet computer

Fujitsu has unveiled a new touchscreen tablet computer offering a host of security features specially for business users.

The Stylistic Q550 is equipped with Windows 7 Professional operating system and a self-encrypting solid state drive (SSD) hard disk.

The business device features a smart card reader which allows authentication to specified users, while it also includes a fingerprint scanner.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, the tablet will be offered in two capacities - 30GB and 62GB - with optional 3G connectivity.

It also sports an advanced theft protection (ATP) tool, with the help of which users can remotely erase data as well as and recover details if the PC is stolen.

The Q550 - powered by an Intel Atom processor - is expected to be launched in mid May, and priced between £749 and £849.

Other specifications include a 10.1in LED backlit display, front and rear facing cameras, USB slots, HDMI out, VESA mounting support and a dock connector.
